Beau was adopted by me, through Without Borders Boxer Rescue from LA back in 2009. He was found roaming the streets of LA and Boxer Rescue LA fostered him out for a week or so until he was matched by the rescue to me. My first thought of him was he looked as though he drooled too much. This is definitely the case now. He was in rough shape when he arrived at YVR and in the first week I had to remove his fractured & abcessed upper canine teeth, as well as treat infected wounds from his street life.

In April, we celebrated our 5th birth-aversary. I can not imagine life in Canada without my beloved B-Dog.

In the five years that we have been together, he has gone from a dog who's instinct upon meeting another dog, was to latch onto their neck and crush down. To a dog who can greet pooches politely and is a delight at doggy daycare. I thank Todd Kier at K9assistance, for his help in working with Beau & I to ensure he is well mannered in all aspects.

There are many who love this handsome squishy face.

Mid May, after 2 days of very subtle clinical signs, he was diagnosed with lymphoma in his liver, spleen and lungs. Truly extreme heartbreak.

To add to insult, in the months preceeding his diagnosis, I have been battling severe depression.  It was Beau who made me get out of bed every day. It was Beau who laid beside me when I felt nothing. It was Beau who gave me purpose. It was Beau who was my rock.

Currently, I only work 12 hours per week & am still awaiting my insurance company to pay a fraction of my lost wages. Fortunately, I took out Trupanion Pet Insurance in January this year. It is a very generous insurance, and they have pre-approved $11K for treatment. Chemotherapy is likely to cost ~$11-15K and my portion is looking to be ~$3K. This is where I reluctantly call upon my friends, family and friends of friends to help improve Beau's quality of life for however he has long to live.

No matter how big or how small, all donations are greatly appreciated and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your love and support.

Let's come together for this special, most handsome guy.

Thank you all in advance.
