Victims and survivors of domestic violence often face many barriers to leaving the abusive relationship.   Fear is one of the biggest reasons.  Fear for their own personal safety and that of their children and pets, fear of the unknown.  Where will I live?  How will I support myself and my children?  Victims and survivors often increase their chances of living in poverty if they leave their relationship.  Emergency fund assistance for victims of domestic abuse is not available in our community.  People Against Domestic and Sexual Abuse (PADA) understands this and would like to set up a client emergency fund to be able to assist survivors of domestic abuse with costs that will help them to become independent such as security deposits for a new home, lock changes, court fees and legal fees, food, gas, and clothing.

A donation of $25 will provide one gas card to get to work, appointments, and court hearings

A donation of $75 will pay to help change locks at a victims residence

A donation of $150 will provide food for a family of four for one week

A donation of $500 or more will help to provide a security deposit for a new apartment

A donation of $1000 or more will help with a retainer fee for an attorney
