I am sure most people will know someone who is affected by Dementia with the total equating to 800,000 people in the UK with a new case diagnosed every 4 seconds! Scary facts...

My father in law David McLean was one of those people who went from an independent man to one who was bewildered and confused with no way of communicating with family or friends.

In his last few months with us David spent quite a bit of time in the Dementia Unit at Crieff Community Hospital where the nurses cared for him in the best possible way.

Whilst it is vital to find a cure for this terrible disease through national fundraising it is also important to continue to support this cause locally. This is why I am fundraising in support of the Dementia Unit at Crieff Community Hospital where the money will be put to great use with the purchase of furniture for their conservatory where the patients spent a lot of time with family and friends.

I have quite a few events in the pipeline culminating in climbing Kilimanjaro at 5895m! With the support of everyone reading this I hope to raise £5000 for the Unit with any money over this amount going towards helping to find a cure.
