Sara Harper, Jaskiren Gill, and Bill Kashin are former Pitt-Johnstown students who are on a mission to help eliminate poverty and homelessness from the world.

We have each volunteered in a number of locations all throughout our community. Every Spring Break, we take it a step further to help families in Florida build not only a stable house but a stable family.

Now that we are no longer able to utilize university resources and funding, we are reaching out to you for donations to help us continue this tradition that has helped so many families and communities over the years, and raise money for the project that we will be working on while we are there.

For 5 days, we will work 8-10 hours (sometimes more) to get as much done as possible in the time that we have, in partnership with the family for whom we are building. When we arrive, we are presented with a slab of concrete to build upon. The first few hours of our first day consist of unloading the mass amounts of materials that will eventually be transformed into a home. Over the course of the week, we are able to put up the entire frame of a home.

While we are on this trip, we will keep a blog where you will be able to see exactly what we accomplish day by day, and see what your donation is helping to accomplish. Your donation is not just helping us travel to Florida to build a house. You are contributing to the overall goal of eliminating poverty and homelessness from the world.

Stay tuned, as we will be posting a website which showcases all the work that we have done in Walton County for the past 5 years. Once again, your contribution is extremely appreciated. In addition, we have all agreed to help any donors with any home improvement work they may need in the future! :D
