Kymm Wright hasn't added a story.
Meet Coco.
Coco is an (almost) 2 year old Chihihuahua. Coco is a fun loving, and happy little dude. He is spoiled rotten with toys, and loves to cuddle up with his blankets.
Unfortunatley for Coco, he also thinks he is SUPERMAN.
On October 25/13, Coco's Mommy (Lisa) came home to play with Coco on her lunch break. Coco got extra excited when he saw his Mom, and jumped off of the couch (his favorite napping spot) and dislocated his knee.
Coco's mom says "It was the most horrific thing to watch. But, it was more horrific to hear his bone crack/snap"
Coco's mom rushed him to the vet, where they immediatly did X-ray's. The vet said that everything "looked" fine, and Coco was sent home with an anti-inflamatory (metacam) and was put on bed rest.
After 6 days of resting, (and NO TOYS) Coco was still in horrible pain.
After talking with a few different people, Coco's mom decided it was
time to get a second opinion.
So after seeing another vet, and
getting more X-rays, the new vet discovered that Coco had a LUTATING
PATELLA (which is basically a floating knee cap) as well as a torn
ligaments in his back leg.
The only option to try and fix it was surgery.
Coco's mommy knew this surgery would cost a lot of money. But she didn't care. Coco IS her child, and she was willing to do whatever it took to help him.
So on Nov the 6th, Dr.Kubinec (www.tbvet.com) preformed surgery on Coco to remove cartilage, and make a hole in his knee cap that will prevent the knee cap from pulling. He also used a lot of sutures to prevent the knee cap from moving latterally.
This was a huge surgery for a little 4 pound dog. He is trying to be brave, and strong, but unfortunatly is still in pain, and having to see a vet almost every day since his surgery.
Coco's mom fully understands that having a pet comes with a certain cost. A cost she willingly spent.
Coco's surgery cost $2500. Plus the price of 2 X-rays, medicine, and numerous folllow up visits to the vet.
We are asking for any help (big or small) to help Coco and Lisa out.
If you can donate $1 or $50 we are asking for any help. Any amount is so appreciated.
Thank you so much for reading and sharing our story,
Coco, and Lisa
