Okay so after getting everyone settled here is the rundown of how things happened and where we are at. This morning I went to get Lacey (Pregnant Pit) and had to stop at a vet’s office down the road. When I went in the Vet tech tells me she is looking for someone to take puppies that were in a tote. The tote held 5 puppies one dead at the bottom from “water head”. The other 6 were under a shed and 3 had to be dug from the mud. There was a can of sardines in the tote with them but they were hungry, scared, and dying alone.
Three were cold, the one who I was worried about smelled of death. They offered to euthanize him humanly but I thought I could bring him back. We got home and 2 of the 3’s body temperature came up and they were returned with the other littermates. Unfortunately, the male did pass away. He got his wings.
Everyone ate except one of the two from earlier and his body temp is going down. We have him on a heating pad with his littermates bundled in warm blankets switching it as they come out of the dryer. We are doing everything here that the vet could do. Sub q fluids and temperature.
