You can send community members to L'Arche gatherings, retreats for formation in L'Arche ideals, or dream vacations. Those people who will benefit include people with intellectual disabilities (core members) and people without intellectual disabilities (assistants). Those in L'Arche soon discover that we all have a disability and all can help one other along the journey of life. L'Arche is based on mutual relationships, which means not only are people helping friends with intellectual disabilities become more independent, but those who are assisting generally come away transformed. Be part of this tranformation process! Send people with and without intellectual disabilities to a L'Arche meeting (gathering) regionally, nationally or internationally! Help create healthy long-term assistants to care for others by sending them on retreat. Assistants need spiritual nourishment and a time away to be refreshed and continue in this life to which they have been called. Some core members don't always seem to have the money to actualize some of their dreams. One may want to visit Walt Disney World, while another may like a trip to see Jean Vanier. Some save money during their entire lifetime and still may be short of the financial need. Would you like to send a core member on their dream vacation? Thank you for your consideration of helping L'Arche in our mission of revealing the gifts of all people through mutual relationships. With your help, we can continue our mission and vision for years to come.
