Hello,

My name is Ahmad Mickens and I am the founder of the RF Youth Boxing Program. I am a former professional boxer, father, business owner and philanthropist.

The sport of boxing provided me a way out of the streets, by giving me something to do with my free time. Boxing gave me better mentors and no longer was I susceptible to the influence of the gangsters and drug dealers in my neighborhood. I now had men, who just like me, were from the streets and fought their way out. I learned so many important life skills including responsibility, humility, focus, camaraderie, determination, and how to work hard for what I wanted. I learned that I had the courage to change.

It is this love, respect and appreciation for the sport of boxing that inspired me to give back and to start the, RF Youth Boxing Inc. program, The RF Youth Boxing program is a non-profit community outreach program that gives youth and adolescents something constructive to do with their after-school, weekend and summer time, by exposing them to the core principals of boxing; Respect, Responsibility, Accountability, Hard Work (10X Rule) and Determination.

Our program has been a part of the Stamford community for more than ten years. We give kids who wouldn't otherwise afford it a quality, structured program that has helped hundreds of youth stay off the streets and become responsible contributing adults.

This year our goal at the RF Youth Boxing Program is threefold:

1. Raise money to offer 15 additional scholarships to families who would otherwise not be able to afford to send their kids to our after-school and summer programs.

2. Offer our program 5 days a week instead of only 3. This will require a significant increase in funding to provide additional enrichment activities and appropriately trained coaching staff.

3. Obtain funding so that we can pay for a space that is exclusive to the RF Youth Boxing Program. Over the past couple of years, we have experienced continued growth and require a larger, more dedicated space for the youth in our community.

I have no doubt that we will reach our goal to raise $100,00 for the RF Youth Boxing Program with the continued help of our supporters and the SUCCESS of White Collar Boxing 2k18! I ask that you donate something to our cause so that we can continue to help our youth become responsible contributing adults. Even if you don't have the means to contribute financially, spread the word, share this campaign with your family and friends and people you know who care about the youth in our community.

Remember, "it takes a village to raise our youth", and that's just what we have created here at RF Youth Boxing Inc.
