Alia Banji, Cadia Chen and Mackenzie Erlank are teaming up to support women in Naro Moru, Kenya, who want to get a college degree and/or develop specialized skills in permaculture.

Like us, Kenyan women want to pursue a college education and a sustainable lifestyle. Unlike us, they don't have the resources needed to make their dreams a reality. To start, we are committing to sending one woman to school at the University of Nairobi.

Eventually, we also want to cover secondary education costs (e.g. uniforms), run permaculture courses in the Nanyuki area, and empower Kenyan women by making a long-term commitment to their personal and professional development (whatever that may mean to them).

With so much to do (and with the holiday season now upon us), it seemed like a good time to open up a donation platform so that we could start collecting small donations. These proceeds will go directly to the cause; an applicant selection process is already underway. This way, when the time comes for the successful applicant to start applying to university, we can get started right away because we will have the funds to cover her application fees, etc..

If you feel VERY generous and want to give a donation of more than 50$ CDN, you qualify for a charitable tax receipt. If you want to donate 50$ CDN or more, please contact Mackenzie Erlank (kenzie.erlank@gmail.com) for more details on charitable tax receipts before donating!

Thanks,

Kenzie, Alia and Cadia
