St Luke's Mission Hospital celebrated its 50th anniversary this year. It is based in the village of Mpanshya, Zambia, and it is run by the Borromeo sisters. St Luke's serves a large, rural community who would otherwise have very limited access to healthcare. It provides a huge range of medical services, including HIV outreach clinics, nutritional support for children, and care for pregnant women.

Chas and I were lucky enough to live and work at St Luke's from 2006-07, so we have witnessed the difference that the care provided by this hospital has made to the lives of many. And so, to support its 50th anniversary appeal, we are donning our running shoes, applying copious quantities of Deep Heat, and doing the Great Scottish Run 10K on 5th October. Please give what you can*.
