Jocelyn has been through a lot in her short life, including 7 surgeries, multiple hospitalizations and daily struggles, but we want her to have every opportunity to be a normal child. For this reason, we are working to get her, her own little wheelchair.

We are raising money to get our daughter a wheelchair.

Jocelyn was born with the most severe form of survivable birth defects, a condition called  OEIS complex. You can read more about her condition on our page We were told before she was born, that she had severe spinal defects, and that, if she lived long enough to be born, she would be paralyzed and never walk. Jocelyn was born, however, kicking her legs. Everyone agreed that she would have difficulties, but would eventually walk on her own. This was before she then suffered a spinal stroke, at 4 months old, and had to have emergency spinal surgery. Since then, she not only can't move her right leg, but also the fingers of her right hand.

We have been doing intensive physical and occupational therapy with her since her stroke, but finally, after she still can not walk, stand, crawl or roll, they have decided she will probably always need a wheelchair, even if just to go long distances. We still have great hope for Jocelyn and are continuing to do all we can so that she will be able to walk, but she needs to be able to move herself around and develop like any other child.

Insurance will only cover the cost of a wheelchair every 5 years, so we have decided to wait until she is bigger, and getting ready to start school, for insurance to pay for a more expensive chair. This leaves us with getting Jocelyn a chair. We have decided to get her a zipzac and are reaching out to our community to help pay for her chair. If we can reach our goal, and exceed it, we will also be able to pay for a leg brace, a hand brace, a walker and other medical expenses.

We have a long road ahead of us, but we are determined to enjoy every moment of our adventure.

If you are unable to help us financially, you can still help by liking and sharing our page, our fundraiser, and offering thoughts and prayers for our beautiful daughter.

Thank you all
