Dear Friends and Family, I sincerely hope that all is well for you and your families and that you are looking forward to this summer. I am very excited for my summer to begin (just 13 more days)! I am also excited to share with each of you the reason for this letter. On May 28, 2014, I will begin a summer of adventure and growth. I have been blessed with two great opportunities to partner with Christ in the mission fields. The first opportunity I have is to join my church, Flatirons Community Church (FCC), on my very first mission trip to Iganga, Uganda. The second opportunity I have been blessed with is an internship program with a Christian Organization out of Nashville, Tennessee. The mission trip and the internship will allow me to grow in my faith, view the world through a new lens and be a part of something bigger than myself. The ultimate goal of both opportunities is to share God’s love, learn more about God and to help those that have never know the blessings we have every day. I hope you are as excited as I am because...I need help. I am looking to build a team of people to support myself and my teams with prayer and financial gifts. I really believe that God is going to do some amazing things in and through us, and your support is essential for our trip. The combined total for the FCC Mission Trip and the SLAM Internship is $8,400 with a total of $4,900 already being raised. long with the financial support, support in prayer would be greatly appreciated. Personally, I would also like prayers that God will use these trips to deepen my faith, that he will give me the eyes to see and the heart to feel the needs that he wants me to witness and take action for. Some things both teams would love prayer for are: team unity, team health and safety, God’s direction and provisions. If we are going to make a lasting impact, our team needs God’s provision.  I have committed myself to these trips, trusting that God will meet our needs and I would ask you to join me in prayer for this. If in prayer you feel God asking you to give financially to provide for our team please follow the directions given in the appropriate section (FCC Mission or SLAM Internship). Thank you so much for praying for me as I follow God to Africa, Tennessee, El Salvador and back to Africa this summer. If you would like updates, please email me at I look forward to sharing with you stories of how God answers your prayers and works through our team! God Bless! Always, Jessica Woody

Here we will participate in children’s education, primary healthcare (like wound care clinics, malaria prevention seminars or seminars on benefits of basic hygiene), visit local churches and encourage them with song, dance, and testimony of God’s work in my life, and go on home visits to listen to stories of families who live in the community.
