A rapid-response team is teaming up with community physicians to bring DripDrop oral rehydration solution to sick children in the aftermath of SuperTyphoon Haiyan. Read more so you can help.

I am a resident neurologist from The University of Kansas Hospital, who will be joining a team of physicians in preventive medicine and surgical care in the Philippines to help in the aftermath of SuperTyphoon Haiyan.  We will be bringing supplies desperately requested by Filipino physicians on the ground.

Through, and with donations of rehydration solution from, this physician team and our support staff will make sure urgently needed medicines are delivered to the people who need it most; sick infants and children.

Most importantly, we seek to establish  sustainable, community-based networks to provide continual care to Filipino physicians who will be in affected areas long after donations have stopped.

You can help.  Once in the Philippines we will need to package fuel, food, water, and arrange cargo and storage for this life-saving oral rehydration medicine.  We will need to rent satellite phone time for physicians in remote locations to ask for help, and provide access instructions.  DripDrop saves lives - but only if it can get to where it is needed most.  This is an experienced team of direct care-providers, who have on the ground DOH and NGO contacts from dozens of global health relief efforts, including immediately after the 2010 earthquakes in Haiti and Pakistan.  Your contributions will make the difference, and in fact are the only way that real differences are made.

Thank you!  Follow us at for updates on how your donations are being used, and link to us there so we can offer our thanks. Follow us on twitter:  @MedsOnTheRoad
