Hello Lovely People!

Just by beginning to read this you are doing a great service! You may be asking yourself “Self, how is reading this doing anything, but wasting my time?” Well, I’ll try to explain (without getting too soppy). This fundraising event is the first personal fundraising event I’ve ever put on. Usually, I do fundraising events for the numerous non-profits I work with and for. However, this time I need a little back from the community.

A few weeks ago, I received some of the best news I will likely get in my life (at least until I have children). I was accepted into a medical school! Problem. They don’t really have a financial aid option L. Though I have chosen one of the least expensive schools possible, and have applied for every scholarship under the sun, there is a financial need. WHY DO YOU CARE?! Besides those of you that know me personally, I hope to engender a feeling of trust and benefit.

PAST: In short, I have spent many, many years for the betterment of my society and humanity. Feel free to look at my personal page for likes and interests if you wish, but that doesn’t give specifics. I have donated countless hours to organizations in the humanities/medical fields, and continue to do so. But don’t take my word for it. Ask Atlas Initiative Group, Red Cross, Volunteers in Medicine of Southern NV, Bikers Against Child Abuse (been a Harley rider since 07), Humanitarian Funds Foundation (Wait, I started that one. So you can’t really ask me). Point being, the more I have to offer, the more I have to give.

PRESENT: Though I have two Bachelor’s degrees, and currently working on my Masters in Psych (part of the reason for my financial need :P) being accepted into a medical school has always been on the top of my list. I made plenty of backup plans (I think down to Plan Z and then some), but now here I must succeed this step in life before I can think about the help I can give.

FUTURE: Now, it may be a bit cliché, but based on my history you can believe that I plan to use my degree to help. I don’t want to be the next best surgeon, or your average depressed personal physician. I want to do something useful with my time. I’m probably the only med school student that actually WANTS to work at a free clinic (If you understood my aversion to monetary gain you would understand). I want to give back to my community, but also to others. Doctors Without Borders, for instance, has always been a desire for me. Basically, to be able to travel around and help countries in my more dire need of medical assistance than ours is a hope for my skills. The list goes on.

So, I come from little, but mean to do big. With any possible assistance you feel worthy of me, I greatly appreciate you and your kindness. And if not, no hard feelings, I’m surprised you read this long :P. Also, feel free to shoot me a personal message and ask any questions you want of me or the organizations I work with. Especially, check out our page with past Humanitarian Funds Foundation event videos and pics.
