After 3 months of living in CA, our savings is gone and our credit cards are maxed out. We are trying so hard to keep our heads above water, but we just can't keep it together this month. I have been working 2 jobs and my husband has been applying for every job he can find, but still we struggle. Now we are faced with an eviction notice and we need help to stay in our home.

I have had a lot of struggles in my life, homeless my senior year of high school and living in seedy motels, diagnosed with stage 4 cancer at 25, had a major blood clot in my neck that almost gave me a stroke at 26, and suffered a miscarriage on my 30th birthday. Through all that, I have never really asked for any help, always fighting to pull myself out the horrible situation I was in. When I was through with cancer treatments I enrolled in beauty school and obtained my cosmetology license. I wanted to do something meaningful with my life and making people beautiful was the best thing I think I can do with my talent. I absolutely love my career and going to beauty school was the best thing I ever did. When I was 6 months pregnant I worked at a salon that I really loved, but was forced to quit because I was told, due to my pregnancy, my hours were going to be cut. I couldn't financially do that, so I switched to a brand new salon a few towns over. I struggled building a clientele as my due date got closer and I ended up accepting a second job and worked on my feet, 6 days a week while 8 months pregnant. After my son was born I knew we needed a change. I didn't want to work two jobs and never see my baby, so we saved and saved and decided to move back to California where I am from. We moved here to better our circumstances, I wanted to work hard and try to make build myself up at a good salon and provide a better life for my son, a better life then what I had growing up. It's been three months and I am still pushing and trying to better our lives, but now, faced with an eviction, I'm struggling and I don't know what else to do.

I know right now, a lot of people are struggling and giving to others is hard, but if you have anything and can help in anyway, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for reading our story.
