Hey everyone!
On May 25th, The Hope for Tomorrow foundation is going on a humanitarian mission to provide much needed medical care to the children of Haiti. I've been invited to go with them this year where I'll be assisting and learning from the team of local, Buffalo surgeons and nurses. Haiti has been relentlessly battered by four consecutive storms and hurricanes over the last three years and, for the first time, donor aid is failing to keep up. "Three years after the earthquake, the situation should be better, not worse," said Oliver Shultz, head of missions for Doctors Without Borders. “More and more organizations have left and this is causing us problems.”
As many of you know, Jess Panepento went there 2 years ago. She tells me there are stockpiles of medical supplies, donated from around the globe, but there simply aren't enough competent volunteers to use them. I'd like the chance to contribute to solving that problem, but I need your help! I would be tremendously grateful for ANY contributions you can offer. Large or small, any little bit helps! If you’re interested in learning more about the current situation in Haiti, I recommend visiting this link to a newspaper article that was just published today. Thanks guys!! http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/04/22/3358979/aid-shortfalls-jeopardize-haitis.html
