"I have done cheer leading since I was 7 years old, and I instantly knew after my first practice that I have found what I loved to do. I have now just turned 18 and am going on my 4th and also my last year of competitive cheer. Cheer leading has been a part of my life for 11 years now, and I am having a hard time accepting that it is my last year for the rest of my life. I am so accustomed to living my life for and around cheer and having it just end is going to be a tremendous struggle. I have joined Northwest Xtreme for my final year, and I think it's safe to say that I am a member of a very talented program. My team is named “No Fear”. We are a Senior Level 3 All Girl team. We are also in a very competitive category and so far we have done awesome! My team and I have recently received a rare and a very exciting privilege to attend “Worlds” in Orlando, Florida. The competition is called “The Summit”. This is the first year they are producing a Worlds Competition for levels 4 and below. Originally, the only Worlds Competition available is for a level 5 and a level 6 team. This is why my team and I are really excited about The Summit who accepts our level 3 team. We look up to the level 5’s and level 6’s, and to be able to have the same opportunity to compete on the same floor in the same arena as them, would be an indescribable feeling. If I got the chance to participate in The Summit competition, it would be an amazing experience that I would never forget and forever be grateful for. In all of my years of cheer leading, I have always dreamt to have the chance to travel to something so big to compete. My old teams were never good enough. But for my final year, on Northwest Xtreme, my team and I actually qualified. I have worked so hard to push myself to my greatest strengths this year, and it has been No Fear’s goal for the entire season to attend Worlds in Orlando, Florida. If I had the opportunity to travel to Florida, it would make it 100 times easier to accept my last year of cheer. Since we qualified barely 2 months prior to the competition in May, my parents are unable to pay the full amount of money that is demanded. I am doing everything I possibly can to attend Florida with my team. I do not want to be the one to hold them back. The whole team needs to compete together in order to attend the competition. So I am asking for help to make my final year of cheer leading memorable for me and my team."
