Monte Bernardo was serving his second tour of duty in Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne Division of the U.S. Army when he was severly injured by an IED explosion, losing both of his legs and his left hand. As a triple amputee, Monte is going to face challenges and hardships for the rest of his life that most of us can only imagine. Yet, unbelievably, Monte says that he would not change a thing. Monte is a true patriot, and he would gladly volunteer to go back to Afghanistan and fight for his country all over again. We wish for support and funds to help assist Monte and his family throughout his recovery journey. Monte is the proud father of an 11-year-old girl, and he is a wonderful friend, soldier, and leader. His positive attitude and determination inspire everyone around him. Please follow Monte's story on his website at www.montebernardo.org You can also make donations by sending a check made payable to "Bernardo Recovery Fund" to PO Box 168561 Irving, TX 75016-8561.
