Fair Haven Rape Crisis Center has been providing supportive services in Lake County, Indiana for over 16 years. Founded for survivors, by survivors. The co-founders started with $500, one office, a coffee pot and a whole lot of faith. Today, Fair Haven RCC's services reach Lake, Porter and LaPorte Counties, with a staff of 14 Advocates.
1 in 6 women , will be sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday. This is a tragedy that is a blight in every community and touches everyone's life. The aftermath causes a ripple effect that is felt by family, friends, community and the survivor...those effects can last a lifetime.
Empowerment is the process of becoming stronger and more confident, especially in controlling one's life and claiming one's rights. Doesn't every survivor deserve that? #ChooseAdvocacy. You too can raise awareness and show survivors that you care.

Build a Team of 5 people that each raise $60. That becomes $300 which provides a survivor
with an individualized care plan with a trained Victim Advocate.
The Walk in the Park began in honor of sexual assault survivors...before Fair Haven became a non-profit organization or rape crisis center. The event theme and activities change over the years, but the purpose remains the same, to walk in honor of survivors.
This year we are giving EVERYONE the chance to participate; near or far. FundRazr is a tool that empowers you in building a team; because together- the IMPACT is greater! Themed, "Be the Light" to engage YOU, a member of a community. You are invited to "take a step towards change" by;
- Join the online event and personalize your profile.
- Invite friends and family to join your team by simply sending the link.
- Then step out! The choice is YOURS- walk, run, bike, hike or skate.
- Don't forget to update your progress with photos, stories, encouragement and challenge your teammates!
