At Nancy Ryles, we are very fortunate to have teachers who are passionate about giving students the ability to express their learning in many different ways. One of the tools we have been so lucky to have this year is Seesaw. Seesaw is an app that connects the students with their classmates and their families. Students and teachers are able to post items on Seesaw such as pictures, videos, and explanations of what they are working on in the classroom. When students and teachers post to Seesaw, families are sent a notification and are able to immediately see, comment, and like the posts. Seesaw is a wonderful way for students to be able to communicate their learning with their families, their teacher, and their classroom community. It is very interactive and has many different platforms for students to communicate. One of the great things about Seesaw is that students at any age and academic level are able to share their learning.

At our school students have a hard time using Seesaw as much as we would like because we don’t have access to enough devices that support this application. Through research and discussion with other educators, we have found that purchasing iPads are a great tool to support Seesaw and other wonderful educational apps. We are requesting funds to purchase 6 iPads and 6 cases. The purchase of 6 iPads would help serve our 200 fourth and fifth grade students.
