Please sponsor the forever optimistic Matthew for the Carol Playing which he will be playing the trumpet in at Peter Jones on 3rd December at 5pm for 1 hour. They are raising money for the St. Nicolas Fund for Children at the Chelsea & Westminster Hospital (where Matthew was born and has attended A&E and the excellent paediatric ward many times, even spent nights in there, includung his brother and myself) and would be extremely grateful for your donation. Anything would be enormously appreciated, even a Pound...it all snowballs :)

Many, Many Thanks!

About the charity:

Because this is a charity that has helped give exceptional care to my children, aiding me with being a good Mother, especially since I can't rely on anyone else in such circumstances, I am extremely grateful for its existance and cause.

The Chelsea and Westminster Hospital Children’s Charity, The St Nicholas fund, was set up 60 years ago to provide essentials for sick and disadvantaged children that the NHS is not always able to supply. They carry on their work by helping make the children’s visit less daunting and help ease the pressure on parents. Through their regular contact with the doctors, nurses, patients and their families, they give help where it is needed. Sometimes by providing important equipment, buying beds for parents to sleep in during their child’s hospital stay and often just by providing games, books and toys in the waiting areas. They also support the hospital play specialists by providing necessary material. We, both my children and I, have benefitted enormously from all of these provisions, even a bed so that Michael and I could sleep beside Matthew for a couple of nights in the hospital.

Anyone looking around the paediatric wards, children’s outpatients, accident and emergency will see evidence of their support and the purchases they have provided.

The Fund is run by a small band of dedicated committee members, some of whom have been involved for over 50 years. The St Nicholas fund is entirely dependent on donations and fund-raising events.

Thanks again!
