2014: Review

Our second year supporting the school.

Donations have helped build a fence around the school, preventing children from falling in the stream. We have also started construction of teacher residences. We are renting a ten acre farm. Crops help feed our students and staff, while excess crops are sold to the general public in an effort to offset wages and fees associated with the school.

We also paid our first down payment on the farm. Ultimately, the farm will keep the school self sufficient.

2015: Areas of Focus

Support for our school.

Our foundation supports books, uniforms, clean water, food, and medical needs to 240 students and staff. We are needing additional support for our teachers and students. Better teaching tools and school supplies.

Solar. Currently the community of Kacerere Uganda has no electricity, nor do the surrounding communities. Even in the major metropolitan cities, electricity can be down at any given time.

Continue making payments on the farm.

Finish teacher quarters and build a permanent kitchen.

We are hoping for our Executive Director and Founders return to the school in 2015. Upon her return, she will be discussing the importance of compost, crop rotation, and irrigation.

Foundation First is a volunteer run registered 501c3 non profit. We invite you to witness our work, buildingforchange.org
