I call this the River Baby Organization because of a really heart wrenching parable I once heard and I connected with it because it deeply pertained to my life. Parable: Once upon a time there was a small village on the edge of a river. The ... More ...

I have started the Riverbaby Organization to create a new system. Dcfs is a severely outdated system in which we use to protect children. I, in my own dealings with CPS have discovered that they damage and destroy families. Children are ripped from the homes and taken to a place usually much crueler than the one than they have been removed from. Also Child Protective Services abuses their power along with the family court system. They falsify allegations against parents in order to remove their children and I do not believe it is  a reliable form of protection. My idea is to build a team of Psychiatrist, child development experts, therapist, behavioral and parenting experts as well as a team of private attorneys to unite families. I want to keep families together so i would build a system of correction for parents to enable them to keep their children. Most parents lack knowledge, resources, or are just in denial about their lack of parenting skills or mental health. After referrals are made to our company about possible child abuse we will screen the parents and children to help decide the best course of corrective action needed to keep the family together as a first priority. As we all know building systems like mine would cost a great deal of money for all the buildings and specialized employees we would need which is why I am trying to raise such a great deal of money but I do promise you it will be well worth it. When it comes to protecting children money should not be an obstacle. No child needs to suffer the devastation of being torn from their parents arms. I see the devastating affect it is having on my own children and I do not want other children to suffer the same trauma.
