On September 22nd 2014, I am asking for your vote as the Kent-South candidate of the People’s Alliance. Often times politicians spend more time focusing on the negative rather than the positive, I want to provide you with a few reasons why a vote for me and the People’s Alliance is not a wasted vote and why with your support, we can overcome the odds!

As a candidate, I have pushed a number of policies which have been adopted by the People’s Alliance, policies which I believe reflect not only my own views but compliment and strengthen those within the People’s Alliance itself.

A comprehensive government compensation reform package that calls for re-structuring of MLA salaries, pensions and greater clarity relating to expense claims and legislature attendance which I had to pleasure of participating in the release to the media on March 11th 2014 in Fredericton, NB.

A Green Energy policy for the residents of the province where government leads by example. The major concepts behind this policy: Allowing resale of renewable energy produced to the grid, where currently you are only capable of running revenue neutral to NB Power. Installation of solar panels or compact wind turbines, as appropriate, on all Government facilities. Offering tax incentives to install renewable energy production at your home. Looking towards Harnessing the immense potential of the Bay of Fundy through tidal power!

A Referendum on shale gas. While I understand this policy may not be favorable to all, I believe it is the only way a government should move forward. Without having the pulse of the province heard loud and clear, pro or against the industry without the gimmick of election promises that can, and we all know will, be broken. You deserve to have your voice heard!

I have also made a personal commitment to donate 10% of my salary as MLA should I be elected to local charities and non-profit groups within Kent-South. As a volunteer Firefighter, elected member of my Local Service District and president and founder of a community based nonprofit, I know the importance and selflessness these individuals have and their own time as volunteers put in to make their communities a better place and they will always have my respect!

Ultimately what I am offering is a commitment to you, a commitment that I know we can do more for our communities in building sustainable growth without losing the rural feel that we all enjoy. A commitment that our resources will not be given away at the expense of future generations. A commitment to always be honest with you, even though I know sometimes you won’t like what I’ve got to say, it will always be the truth.

All of this doesn’t have to seem impossible, you have the power to make it happen on September 22nd by voting for me, Joel MacIntosh as your next MLA in Kent-South.

Together, Anything is possible!
