BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!
I dropped Schrodinger off at Dr. G's After Hours Vet Clinic.
Dr. G said that depending on how stable Schrodinger stays will vary the results of the surgery. I am hopeful because, besides the mass in his abdomen, he is a very heal

MY LAST UPDATE!!!!!!

Schrodinger is doing great!!!

He drives my other cat and our dogs up the wall.... From what I have read that is a typical Bengal personality.

I did some other research on Bengals and they have mismatched chromosomes!!!!

36 Chromosomes in Asiatic Leopard cats and 38 in domestic cats..

Well no wonder his plumbing was messed up, along with being a rumpy which is a calling card for genetic malformations...

Despite the odds and with the generosity of so many wonderful people, Schrodinger will live to attack my dogs, my feet, my furniture.... and any other object he sees fit to search and destroy!!!!

I am going to be taking him over to Adams County Animal Shelter on tuesday for a microchip... So if anyone would like to meet him we will be there around 10-11Am..

Feel free to PM me for updates thru Facebook, but this will be the last update I send thru Fundrazr.

Thank you again,

Sincerely,

Terri, Schrodinger and all the others!!!!!

BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!
I dropped Schrodinger off at Dr. G's After Hours Vet Clinic.
Dr. G said that depending on how stable Schrodinger stays will vary the results of the surgery. I am hopeful because, besides the mass in his abdomen, he is a very healthy kitten. It looks like the surgery with Dr. G will be around $400 +/- ?

crossing my fingers....ugh the anxiety

Hello my friends,

This little guy was given to me because his owners were not able to get him the surgery he is going to require.  His belly is severly distended and he looks like he swallowed a grapefruit.

estimate from my vet $1800  for a diagnostic ultrasound and surgery.

I will gladly email the estimate document to anyone.  I tried to post it here but cant get it to post.

Any amount that you can help with would be greatly appreciated.  I have included an email below from the first vet who saw the kitten.

Sincerely,

Terri Kluppel

Here is the email I was sent from the first vet who saw him:

Your kitten has an abdominal mass that is well circumscribed on localized mostly to the right side of the abdomen.  It doesn't seem painful but may be causing issues just because of its size (ie putting pressure on the bladder or colon).  Because of his age and because he hasn't acted sick, I would expect that is a birth defect.  The most likely thing would be an abnormal (cystic-fluid filled) kidney.  An abscess, some other kind of cyst or growth is also possible.  A tumor/cancer is pretty unlikely.  They can get a virus that causes a fluid filled abdomen (called FIP) but usually they act sick and this seems to be more isolated to a sack rather than filling up the entire abdomen like what happens with FIP.  My guess is it is an abnormal kidney or at least something that has a good chance to be surgically correctable.  He has the possibility to have a normal life as long as it can be successfully removed and he has at least one good kidney.   Hope this helps.
