My name is Lucy. I am an eight-year-old Boston Terrier. I live in San Francisco with my daddy, Mike. It was recently discovered that I am in need of an operation. I have a condition called ingrown tail, which isn’t uncommon among Boston Terriers, but my tail is not behaving as we had hoped it would. I currently have an infection related to my tail that is causing me much discomfort and makes it so I have to wear this silly head cone. My veterinarian has recommended a procedure called a caudectomy to remove the remainder of my tail, hopefully preventing any future tail related problems for me. If the little infection I currently have clears up, I will be having this surgery on January 28th. The cost of the operation including the visit that prompted my diagnosis is expected to be about $2,000. My daddy planned ahead when he bought pet health insurance for me, but our plan will only cover a small portion of the costs of my operation. My daddy has tapped all of his savings and assets, but we are still coming up short on the cost of the surgery. If you would like to help out with a small (or not so small) donation, you can do so right here on this site. Thank you for reading and for any assistance you can provide, even positive thoughts help.
