HELP NEEDED: Family and friends, i am writing this message as a liaison, son in law, family and friend of the the people of the town of Lomonon,, Leyte where my wife was born and raised and her family (my family) still resides. They are located 3 hours away from Tacloban City where the eye of the storm first made contact with the Philippines. As many of you may have seen the devastation by now, whether by photos or by news, it is not getting any better any time soon. International aid is currently arriving little by little but the outlying towns, like Lomonon, are still hard to get aid and assistance to while the majority of the focus remains on the bigger cities. Resources are getting scarce by the day, especially food and water. I am asking you all as your family member or friend, if you would be willing to make a monetary donation to this cause. This has no ties or affiliations to the Red Cross or any other organization. I am doing this fundraising on my own. Reason being, after talking to the Red Cross, donations will go out to the people who are deemed to need it most which is currently Tacloban city. While I agree that they are the ones who need it the most, it leaves smaller towns on the outskirts like Lomonon outside of their current focus. For this reason, I am collecting Donations, or monetary gift contributions, for them. I'd like to try and help and make a difference for at least one town with your help. This is the same town that took me in with arms wide open and treated me like a celebrity with their genuine hospitality back in 2008 when I visited. According to the website, the Red Cross states that canned goods and clothes would not be logistical in this situation as it would take more manpower and money to execute, so that altered my initial plan. Any donation you can give, even a dollar would help tremendously. I have a trustworthy person who is able to receive these funds in a neighboring island in the Philippines who can buy food and water, and have it delivered to them. Again this is a personal fundraising mission, not an organization one, just so you know. Please feel free to PM me for further information on donating. If anything, your continuous prayers are very much appreciated. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
