My little boy Alfie was born blind in 2009.

We finally had answers in 2012 and were told he has Lebers Congenital Amaurosis caused by the gene mutation CEP290. This means that not only his eyesight is affected but he will have to be monitored for other organ involvement mainly renal failure.

Alfie also has Autism and suffers from Hypoglycaemia which can leave him unconscious and once left him in a coma, it can be triggered by a bug or not eating enough, to help prevent this he has a tube through his tummy to be fed (PEG FED).

He is the most amazing, brave little boy and we love him with all our hearts xxx

We are fundraising to be able to take him to America. There is a conference held every two years where all the best specialists from all over the world meet to help find a cure for this very rare condition and have so far found a cure for the REP65 gene so things are really moving forward! We pray that one day our beautiful son will be able to see.
