Joe was found a stray wandering the streets of Detroit in July. Unlike most strays, he came right up to his rescuer and her dog, tail wagging, happy to meet new friends! Jen Guthrie of PRO K-9 and Better Life Canine Center evaluated Joe the next day, and has been helping in his training and placement ever since. Joe immediately showed his potential with training and willingness to learn and please, it was pretty clear he had been someone’s dog before! He has spent time in a few temporary foster homes, but is now being boarded at Healthy Paws Veterinary Medical Center where he is receiving daily exercise, training, socialization and field trips to volunteers’ homes and around town. Joe is approximately 3 years old and an energetic little guy, earning him the nickname “Go-Go-Joe”! He would make an ideal running or biking companion. He loves every person he meets and has done well with social interactions with other dogs. He’s met and hung out with children and loved the interaction, and loves to snuggle and give kisses when it’s quiet time at home. Joe is still learning his obedience and some house manners, so he will need a home that is patient and able to continue to give him the energy outlets and training he needs to become the perfect little companion. Joe is in need of a foster or adopting home ASAP and comes with free training support. He is fully vaccinated and neutered. We are raising funds to help cover the cost of his boarding and other expenses in the meantime. Please consider making a contribution!
