Hi Family. We are calling forth community support to finish raising funds for my son Elijah's Sustainable Design studies abroad at The Federation of Damanhur in Northern Italy. He is due to leave next month, so we are launching this last minute effort to help cover expenses for the course, flight, and other misc. costs (we all know the American Dollar is worth much less in Euros). As a gesture of our deep Gratitude, we have some gifts listed at the bottom of this page for anyone that wants to support. Please read Elijah's letter below to learn more:

Aloha! My name is Elijah Sage Kealoha Badua-Vaccaro, 18 years of age, now circling into my second year out of high school. I am aiming to endeavor into ecological & environmental studies so that I may contribute to the vital & experimental means for living sustainably in our modern context.

I began my studies last fall on the island of Oahu, Hawaii (home of my mother's roots) by completing the Permaculture Design Certification Course (PDC) through the Asia-Pacific Center For Regenerative Design, and received certification as a Permaculture Designer. I am seeking to expand my education and involvement in global, sustainable and ecological works by exploring the visions in germination today and directly learning from the communities through which they evolve... The second phase of my studies will take me on a journey to participate in the Eco-Village Design Education Course (EDE), hosted on site at the community of Damanhur in Northern Italy (country of my father's roots...sort of)! Also known as the "Eighth Wonder of the World", Damanhur is a community renowned for its sustainable entrepreneurship and cultural-creative vision. In conjunction with GAIA, a global network of educators and students in the field of sustainability who have formulated and held the EDE course worldwide, this project is an official contribution to the United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development. The course is a month-long intensive from August 10th to September 7th of this year, to be attended by some 30+ students of varying backgrounds and nationality, as well as age. As part of completing this course, I will receive a certification in Eco-Village Education (EDE) Design.

This is a huge step for me in education, as far as my involvement and further entrepreneurship in a field so crucial to our lives and the very essence of living. So any & all of your support, both material and spiritual, delights my utmost gratitude, and I could only hope to return such a blessing. Fare me well on my travels. I'll have a toast for each and every one of you, as I keep close at heart.

MAHALO NUI LOA! ME KA MAHALO IHI!
