Many families in the communities of Guatemala cook over open flames in one room homes, filling them with smoke continually. This excessive smoke inhalation is the leading cause of death in Guatemalan children under the age of 5, according to to the World Health Organization. The deadly gas carbon monoxide was found to be twice the level considered to be dangerous and is the cause of a variety of health issues. The team aims to build ten brick stoves that are ventilated to the outside. While there, we also plan to help build a brand new school in the community. I want to serve these people with your help, building relationship, love, and a bridge to health and the love of God.
