Robert was born January 21, 1998 with hypo-plastic left heart syndrome. He received a heart transplant on February 4th, 1998. Over the years cyclosporine destroyed his kidneys and they are now failing. His heart's function is poor. We are desperately looking for help. He has been denied listing for a combined heart and kidney transplant because he has autism. He has been denied a kidney transplant from a close relative in Wisconsin. We found out about Boston Children's Hospital through a wonderful caring loving mother by the name of Teena Young after she read our precious son's story on his facebook page on Feb. 19th; we received a warm encouraging response by many parents of kids with autism. Teena shared our son's Facebook Page on Boston Children's Hospital Facebook Page and we received a message from Ryan a young man from Boston Hospital that said :"we encourage the parents or the guardian of Robert Moldenhauer to contact our hospital. Which we did and made a trip to Boston for the doctors to meet with our precious and much-loved son Robert. Robert's dad had a very positive and encouraging conversation with Dr William Harmon the head of the kidney transplant department and when we were on the plane to Boston we received a call from our health insurance in Wisconsin called The Physicians Plus that they are denying our trip there; we returned home after 2 days of evaluation and appealed to them. After 2 weeks of waiting and sending the Appeal committee several documents regarding why we are going to Boston for treatment; they denied our Appeal today March 21st; we are absolutely devastated beyond words as our precious son Robert is getting worst by the day. Please help us to save the life of our precious and only child Robert Omid by sharing this page with the whole world; thank you so much; his desperate but hopeful parents; Shohreh & Robert Moldenhauer Wisconsin U.S.A.
