After October 7th, the world felt more uncertain, and for many Jews, less safe.

At the same time, something else has been missing for a while post-COVID. Real third spaces.

Places where people can meet outside of work, connect, build relationships, and actually enjoy being around each other without a high price tag.

In Boston, that gap is even wider. The Jewish community is fragmented. Israeli and American Jews often exist in separate worlds. Religious and secular Jews are pulled into separate communities. Politics fractures the community further.

Many people feel like they don't fully belong in any space.

Mesibat Maccabee was created to fix that.

It's a recurring event series designed by someone inside the community, for the community and our non-Jewish allies.

Most Jewish events in Boston are weekday mixers, religious services, or parties that somehow still feel like religious services.

This is none of those. It's a Saturday night party that doesn't stop until midnight.

Sometimes it's an intimate r&b and rosé night for 30.

Sometimes it's a 200 person dance party in Southie, with music that moves between hip-hop, pop, r&b, afrobeats, reggaeton, dancehall, and Israeli bangers.

It's the only place in Boston where the full diversity of Jewish identity shows up in the same room, and actually dances.

There's now a path to grow this, but each event carries real costs: venue, security, bartenders, alcohol, and insurance.

Tickets are priced to stay accessible. That means they don't cover everything.

Every dollar raised goes directly into event costs. No one is getting paid. This is purely about making the space possible.
