Welcome to Richmond Christian School's ICC Week!
During the weeks of May 8-15, RCS is raising funds for China’s Most Vulnerable Children
"LEVEL UP!"At RCS, we’re embracing every opportunity this year to Level Up! While God has already completed the work of restoration and salvation through Jesus, we are invited to respond by choosing to do good, growing in our faith, and loving others. With Christ as our foundation, we are called to be part of God’s restorative work— supporting and uplifting those around us, both in our community and beyond. One of those ways is through our ongoing partnership with International China Concern (ICC). We’re excited to invite your family to join us as we intentionally participate in God’s restorative plan by learning about and supporting ICC’s incredible work. We’re looking forward to ICC Week, which will take place from Thursday, May 8th to Thursday, May 15th. Please take time to encourage and support your child as they seek to be a bridge of love—helping to meet essential family needs through ICC. JASON PAUL ______________________________________________________ Who is International China Concern?Since 1993, International China Concern has been reaching out to China’s most vulnerable children. Children with disabilities in China face stigma, systemic prejudice (often unable to attend school), isolation and many live in extreme poverty. Families caring for a child with a disability live under tremendous pressure that can lead them to the desperate and painful decision to abandon their child. Once a child is abandoned, care by China’s institutional welfare centres often results in neglect, malnutrition, and deterioration, causing irreparable harm. Richmond Christian School is a proud partner of International China Concern (ICC). ICC provides support both to families caring for a child with a disability in their own home and for children who have been abandoned. Your child is going to be taking part in a special event called ICC Week May 8 to Thursday May 15. Let's help transform lives together! This year, join us as we actively participate in God’s restorative plan, choosing to do good and grow in faith. Help your child bring hope to the world by supporting the meaningful work of ICC. Each class at RCS Elementary has an online fundraising page. We’re asking you, as parents, along with your child to email friends and family to ask them to sponsor your child as they raise funds. Please share with them the link that has been provided by your child’s classroom teacher. The donations received will enable ICC to provide the necessary care, nutrition and services that enable families to care for their child. It will also enable the children, who have experienced abandonment, to receive the kind of care that will give them the opportunity to grow in their God-given potential. |

Q: What is Fundrazr?
A: Fundrazr is the platform ICC is using for participants to donate, register and create their own campaign pages to share among their network.
Q: How do I find my campaign page?
A: After you’ve registered, you should have received an email from Fundrazr with a link to your very own campaign page. You can also find your campaign page by signing into Fundrazr, clicking your profile picture at the top right, and then clicking “campaigns”.
Q: I made an individual campaign, can I switch to a team campaign?
A: Yes, even after registering as an individual, you can go into your settings to switch to a team campaign and allow people to join you. However, you can not switch from a team campaign into an individual campaign.
Q: How do I customize my campaign page?
A: Once you’ve opened up your campaign, we encourage you to start customizing! You can customize and edit by clicking the pen icon. You’ll be able to customize the following:
1. Change your campaign title
2. Change your banner photo
3. Add/ Change your profile picture
4. Add your story and why you are walking in
support of ICC children
Q: What is my “story”?
A: Your story is how you connect with ICC and why you’re walking with us. Have you volunteered at one of our homes in China? Do you personally know someone with a disability? Have you adopted or sponsored a child from ICC? Do you have a passion to see Chinese society love and embrace people with disabilities?
Q: Why is it important for me to share my “story”?
A: Sharing your story helps your community understand your passion for ICC and why you're walking. There are a couple of ways you can share your story. You can share your story on your Fundrazr campaign page and social media. We encourage you to share your story, because more than ever, we need something that brings our community together.
Q: Why should I share on social media?
A: The beauty of Walk the Wall is that it gives you the opportunity to invite your network into this movement through social media. Every share on social media helps raise awareness about the children and families whose lives have been changed forever through ICC’s care. So even the click of a button can make a difference!
Q: Why is Walk the Wall so important?
A: Walk the Wall has been one of ICC’s largest and most important fundraising events. On average, Walk the Wall has 4,000 participants globally and fundraises about $400,000 annually. Every dollar donated empowers ICC to provide life saving, holistic care to children and families who are in crisis. With your support, ICC’s love surrounds each child with special education, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, life skills training, and vocational training.
We’re blessed that partners like you are coming together to help us raise awareness and critical funding for International China Concern.
Thank you for providing love, hope and opportunity to children with disabilities!
