Patrick is a loving husband and father of 4 beautiful children. When he was little they first discovered that Patrick was colour blind when he was consistently drawing trees in the wrong colours at school. Over the years he has found ways to adapt and decipher what colour something is by reading labels on crayons or looking at the difference in a colour's shade from dark to light. He says that most often he just doesn't pay attention to colour because it isn't significant but he really doesn't know what his has been missing out on! One day I was on my computer reading an article on colour blindness. The article showed this image demonstrating what colour blind people see verses what normal colour vision looks like:

He happened to look over my shoulder and comment "Why are they showing 2 of the same image?". It just really struck me the enormity of what he has had to live without! 

This July, Patrick will be celebrating his 40th birthday and I can not think of a better gift to give him, but the gift of colored sight. I was so excited when I found out that there are glasses that can help people who are colour blind, to finally see colour. I want so much for Patrick to see the rich colorful world that we live in. I want him to see the colours in a sunset or the colours in his kids drawings. I want him to experience seeing colour....something that so many of us never give a second thought to, but something that is so invaluable.

Due to our current financial situation I am creating this fundraising page in order to raise the necessary funds to purchase a pair of these colour blind correction glasses for Patrick. WHAT IS ENCHROMA?
