Rebecca Fuentes hasn't added a story.
My name is Rebecca Fuentes. I'm a stay-at-home mother of 5 in the rural Rocky Mountains. A year and half ago, my husband and I "met" Stephen Mwebaza, a teacher in Uganda, through mutual friends here in the US. We learned of the enormous project he had taken on: to build a home for orphans and street children in Uganda.
In Uganda, orphaned or abandonded children have no safety net to depend upon. They must fend for themselves. The Back to Eden Home at Kiyindi Landing (on the shores of Lake Victoria) in Uganda will give 31 children a safe, secure place, and a chance to have their school-fees sponsored. When we first heard about it, the home needed the roof finished, elecetrical run, and plumbing. That has all been completed. The final requirement for the home is a security fence. This will keep the children safe and will prevent destruction and damage to the home's gardens, which are an important source of food for them. The fence is partially completed, but time is short, and in the meantime, the children are being housed in a rental in a dangerous neighborhood.
All money donated will go directly to purchase supplies for building the fence or payment to the workers building the fence. The sooner the fence is funded, the sooner the children can move in. Please give what you can to help them out. Many have been blessed with great abundance, and we have the wonderful opportunity to bless others by sharing that abundance with them. Any amount can help the fence work go forward.
For these children, the home and the people helping with it have given a gift of hope they could not have imagined. They cannot depend upon government systems to care for them or keep them sae. They do not have families who can or are wiling to care for them. They are completely reliant on the care and generosity of strangers like us.
