PLEASE NOTE: This fund is for Both Mike and Izzy, Help us raise money for expenses to defend heroes Israel Hernandez and Mike Fasig from wrongful charges for their actions to prevent a violent incident at the Oceti Sakowin Camp.

On October 27, an undercover DAPL mercenary barreled his truck off-road at high speed, toward a camp full of women and children, brandishing a fully loaded AR-15 assault rifle.

Answering the frantic calls of security to stop the vehicle, these two heroes risked their own safety by using their cars as moving barricades to prevent the gunman from entering the camp. We cannot know what would have happened, but do know that they acted to forestall potential catastrophe and save countless lives.

Once they were able to stop his truck, they were joined by other water protectors, who were able to peaceably convince the mercenary not to fire his weapon until he could be handed over to authorities.

The gunman was eventually turned over to the Morton County Sheriff’s department, *where he was released immediately without incident.*

Morton County then turned around and charged our heroes, Israel Hernandez and Mike Fasig, with two counts of felony each—reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

Just take that in a moment.

The gunman was released, and the men who stopped him were charged with felonies.

There are many expenses related to fighting these charges, and we need to support them in anyway we can. This case will go all the way to jury trial--to expose the corruption of DAPL and Morton County.

Both men are Akicita warriors—native guardians and protectors of the camp and cause.

Israel Hernandez is a 22-year-old father of three with another baby on the way. He is one of the most level-headed, wise-beyond-his-years individuals we have ever encountered. Mike Fasig, the elder of the two, is also a family man, and is one of the most beloved, contributive individuals on camp.

This fund will be used by both men together while they stand side by side facing off with the courts of Morton County.

Will you help us hold the courts accountable for this terrible injustice? Help us defend these heroes as thanks for their selfless actions on October 27?
