Sarah Reid hasn't added a story.
This is baby Hunter and his mom Trish.
He was born via emergency c-section at just 26 weeks gestation on Oct. 23. He weighed only 2.5 lbs.
The survival rate for micro preemies is grim. He was so tiny, but a fighter! He has struggled with bacterial infections, seizures and brain bleeds, but has continued to fight. He has his good days and his bad days in the NICU.
This has been terribly hard on his parents, Trish and David. They have to other sons at home, Ashton and Christian. Christian, who is only 15 months old has his own special needs. He was born with bilateral clubbed feet. He has been through several surgeries and has a big one scheduled in January.
Trish goes to the hospital everyday to see Hunter. She pumps him breastmilk to bring up. Unfortunately, she has to leave Hunter everyday to go home and care for her 2 other children. All while still recovering from a c-section where she was cut up and down and side to side.
Today as I was scrolling on Facebook with my morning coffee, I saw Trish's status update just posted minutes ago. It read, "Have to head back to work tomorrow only 3 weeks after my c-section. Don't know how I'm going to handle work, nicu visits, pumping every 2 hours and the kids plus manage to take care of myself so I don't collapse. Trying to find new homes for 2 dogs as well. Anyone interested please msg me. Feeling hopeless..."
As a close family friend, I knew I had to do something. Because Hunter arrived 3 months early, Trish did not have enough hours to get mat leave, forcing her to return to work to provide for her family. How horrible!! She needs to be at the hospital with her baby!
Christmas is coming, this family is struggling to just put food on the table. A moms heart is breaking. Lets help.
Even just a small donation will help. No amount is too small. Lets bless this family with at least one less burden
