First let me tell you about Rosetta. She always has a smile on her face no matter the situation. She loves nothing more than being with her family and friends and enjoying a delicious meal that she has cooked.
She always went out of her way to help others and make them feel special. To have her as a mother was a privilege I will forever be trying to pay back.
Rosetta Colella suffered a severe brain stem stroke on 26 July 2012. As her son and guardian i was told to give up on her many times and even threatened with legal action if I persisted in letting her stay on life support. Fortunately, mum helped out and over the time proved the doctors wrong many times. They eventually left me alone:)
She was in intensive care for over 3 months and hospital for over 12.
Rosetta is currently undergoing extensive rehabilitation at Brightwater Care Facility in East Victoria Park in Western Australia. She is also undergoing therapy specialising in areas of neuroplasticity. She has 100% memory. The problem is the brain's connections with the body. Basically from blinking her eyes to moving her fingers Rosetta has had to start all over again. As you can imagine this is incredibly tough physically but also mentally.
It has been quite some time now since Rosetta's stroke and we would like to take her out to visit family and friends more often. The taxi is expensive and very unreliable.
I didn't have any options as all available funds go to ROsetta's therapy and care. Thus i thought I had nothing to lose by putting mum's story out in the world and see if we could raise some money to buy a wheelchair accessible vehicle.
Thank you in advance and I will post pictures of Rosetta's progress as often as possible.
People just like you have raised $158,000,000+ for causes they and their friends care about.
