Since a young age, Kara has loved animals. Her earliest memories involve rescuing kittens trapped in a shed and feeding birds with broken wings. Her love of animals included both big and small (she would rescue worms on ashphalt after rainstorms that would surely die if they did not make it back to grass and stare and play with ants on the ground for hours on end).

After viewing a television program about a dog who acted as a surrogate to cheetahs and lions at the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary, she was inspired by the work of the volunteers to help. The Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary rescues wild animals orphaned by farmers and poachers who kill the animal's mothers. These young animals would surely perish if it were not for the efforts and care given by the sanctuary and its volunteers. Once the animals are capable of surviving on their own, the sanctuary releases them back into the wild. Furthermore, the sanctuary travels to schools across Namibia to teach children about the wild animals they care for. In doing this, they hope to reduce the frequency of animal mothers being needlessly killed.

Of course, the costs associated with this volunteer experience are not cheap. The cost of a two week volunteer program with the Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary is approximately $1700 CAD. This money goes directly toward food, housing and medical care of the animals. Secondly, a return flight from Moncton, NB to Namibia is approximately $4300. All donations will immediately be placed into a personal Tax Free Savings Account in order to maximize growth (lets make the bank help fund this!) My hope is to travel to Namibia Wildlife Sanctuary by the fall of 2015.

Please, help with the care and rehabilitation of endangered wildlife by funding this special cause. Thank-you for your time.
