Erin Hohn hasn't added a story.
On. July 4th 2014 our playful Great Dane became suddenly paralyzed in both back legs as well as losing all function of his bowel and bladder. After an emergency vet trip they were assuming an FCE diagnosis or also known as a spinal stroke, Where a peice of cartilage from an acute injury lodges onto the spine causing paralysis of the limbs. We were told that with much time and patience he had a good chance of being rehabilitated. We went straight to our vet, after being up all night, to see what medications could be prescribed to help move him along. They gave him hefty doses of a strong steroid IV over a 2 day period and we were not given further tips on how to rehabilitate him. We left discouraged and broke. After much research and support through Facebook and friends he has started laser treatments and possible accupuncture to speed up healing processes. We are trying every possible avenue to see our boy walk and play again. He is very healthy and in good spirits despite current issues. He drinks and eats, and has even chewed up a raw hide bone. It's a long and strenuous waiting game. Turning, carrying, changing diapers, and trying to keep a dog, weighing over a hundred pounds, calm. We hope that you are willing to join us in Sullivan's road to recovery. We understand if you can't give financially, but please continue #prayingforsullivan
