On August 2-9, 2014, I will go on my third missions trip to Duplan, Haiti. This time, my team and I will be putting on a vacation bible school for the kids in the village of Duplan. We will spend a week in the mountains laughing, playing and sharing the Word of God to dirty, hungry and broken children who are eager to be loved on.

Haiti has confirmed in my heart the understanding that for some reason, I was made to do unimaginably more than what my discouragement tells me not do. I know that I was not made to just sit back and watch, but to get up and go. I know that Jesus has called me not so that I could be comfortable, but so that maybe, one person will see the love of Christ in me. And that is worth spending my life for. Everyday, in the midst of my struggles, I am reminded I was created to change the world for someone; to serve, to love, to touch someone, the way Christ first did for me- starting with Haiti, the country I fell in love with 10 months ago.

For more than 350 boys and girls in the middle of Haiti, my life matters. My calling matters. Temporary discomfort matters because it means love and hugs and laughter in an otherwise strict situation of a home. It means Jesus for all of us. Christ called me into this trip because He knew that somewhere in that village, someone needs and will need hope, care and investment. And He knows I will need it too. Traveling to Haiti costs $1400, and since this is my third time raising this amount in a little over 12 months, coming up with the means to support myself is getting more and more difficult. Supporting me financially means tangible love and hope for children who wouldn't necessarily have it otherwise. Only through you will this poverty stricken country see a glimpse of the hope we find in Jesus. Please consider helping me out for the chance to return to the children that I have fallen in love with in Duplan, Haiti. In the midst of all of the hurt, at the end of the day, there is redemption. Jesus will be there, saying, “I have not forgotten these children. Trust me. I make all things new.” Please consider being a part of this redemption. Sweet, sweet redemption.

"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: 'It is more blessed to give than to receive.' " [Acts 20:35]
