Maria is a loving and caring woman who has been  ill for the last 2 months ago. She started with leg and back pain and pelvic pressure.

She went to the hospital for a checkup and was diagnosed with Myoma (Uterine Fibroids) which seems to have appeared 5 years ago but wasn’t picked up earlier. This is a benign tumor formed from muscular and connective tissues of the uterus (womb) if is detected at an early stage.

Unfortunately there might be complications now for Maria due to significantly growth of this tumor.
There were a few bumps along the way that prevented her to get operated. She needed blood transfusions but close relatives and friends didn’t have the type of blood she needed.
Relatives received blood donations right after but then the specialist signature to approve the treatment was missing. The latest was they didn’t have enough beds/rooms to admit her in.

She has been on a waiting list for the last month, where a relative needed to go to the hospital every day to follow up and check if there was a place for here.

By this time her legs got very swollen which prevented her walking or move and could only resting in bed.

The 2nd of January she received a call from the hospital advising her that there was a place for her and that would be getting admitted on the 6th of January.

Maria's mother wasn’t feeling very well that night and passed away unexpectedly the next morning. This is a terrible loss and shock for the family.

They live in Peru. They are not part of a superannuation fund and only receive a pension from the government which isn’t much. Unfortunately her mom’s payments will stop now and they need to live with their father’s income which is not enough to cover for all the expenses.

Her brother lives in Sydney and has travelled to Peru to be with his family on this difficult time. He is taking the remainder of his holidays and unpaid leave from work.
Once he returns to Australia, they need to hire a nurse to look after Maria and his father.

Maria and her father are spending the most challenging time in their life both financially and emotionally. She is working hard to get better but it makes it a bit difficult while they are grieving and being worry about all the expenses they need to pay.

Maria has always taken care of her parents. She has sacrificed many things for them. Now she needs help.

We have set up this page to raise funds to help them with her mother’s funeral cost, Maria’s medical costs, paying their mortgage, living expenses and private nurse.

We ask your help to support Maria and their family through this difficult time in any way you can.
