Katrina Hill hasn't added a story.
We created this to get help our son Sam to kidney transplant. His father is the primary breadwinner because his mom devotes all her time to Sam and his two older brothers and older sister. Sam was born with Congenital Nephrotic Syndrome the Finnish type and will be going to Corpus Christi, Tx to have his kidneys removed and start dialysis starting January 20th and the surgery is January 22nd but he will have to be admitted the day before. Sam's family lives in Lubbock, Tx and that is about 10 hours from corpus. They live so far away to have help with the older kids while Sam spend most of his time in the hospital or traveling to corpus for drs appts.
Shawn Samuel Hill was born August 24th, 2010 in Lubbock, Texas. He was born at 34 weeks due to no fluid and was sent to NICU shortly after birth. He was released after 5 days with the diagnosis of Hypothyroidism and his family was told to expect some tests and some medication and possibly delay from this disease. Little did they know what was brewing inside of little Sam. Two weeks later mom took him into the drs for his two week check up and had been voicing over the last two weeks her concerns but the nurse just kept telling her she was overreacting. Once she explained her concerns to the pediatrician he explained she would need to go for testing the next day because he needed confromation on what he thought it was. Little did Sam's family know that their hole world would be turned upside down. After the testing Sam's dr finally came in and told Sam's mom that he indeed had congenital nephrotic syndrome the Finnish type and not to expect him to live past one year of age. Well after 5 drs and two hospitals they found an amazing Dr that gave them hope and she became his dr. After 3 years Sam's kidneys went into failure and Sam's family were told to prepare for him to soon have his kidneys removed and dialysis started. He had many appointments in October and November and was finally listed on the UNOS list as inactive. He will remain inactive until his kidneys are removed and dialysis is started. This is to take place January 22nd and his family will have to drive down to Corpus Christi, January 20th and Sam will be placed into the hospital January 21st. If you feel the need to donate this is what this is for. All the family asks is for prayers and people to share Sam's story. He has a page on Facebook called Saving Superman Sam. Please do not harass the family as they have enough to deal with. Thanks
