My son Greg Abbey bought a foreclosed home during the summer of 2013. He and his father guttted it and updated everything...new kitchen, bath, floors...everything.  He and his girlfriend Karen moved in just before Thanksgiving.

Yesterday, while they were at work their home caught on fire (ffrom the fireplace) and he lost everything he had worked for. It left them both with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. They had 3 pets: 2 rabbits and a puppy named Angus. Unfortunately only 1 bunny lived. He is devastated. The heat from the fire was so hot that it melted the new refrigerator that they had just bought with their Christmas money.

Yes, they had insurance and eventually they will receive that money but of course the insurance company will try to pay out as little as possible.

When I talked to him this morning he was still in tears. I dont think the poor kid has ever felt any lower. As a mother it breaks your heart to hear your child in so much pain.

I'd like to be able to at least help them replenish their basic needs such as clothes (work and everyday) and shoes, coats etc...

I'm not one who is used to asking for help. I'm usually the one helping others so this is a humbling experience. But if you could help...even a little...every dollar would help.

Thank you all so much!
