My daughter Lydia is hoping to travel to South Africa next summer to work with underprivileged communities and take part in conservation projects. In order to do this, she needs to raise at least £2000. I must stress this is absolutely NOT a holiday. Lydia and a group of sixth form students from Kesgrave High School will be working very hard to improve the lives of people less fortunate than us, as well as undertaking important conservation work. Lydia has worked very hard so far, giving up her time and personal money to reach her target, as well as studying for her A levels.  She has not asked for any Christmas presents, instead is asking for money towards her target.  I want to help her raise the money, so have agreed to join her in a charity swim on new years day at Felixstowe! Those who know me well, will know that I have a hatred (bordering on fear) of cold deep water, so this for me is a real challenge. But for my daughter, I'm prepared to give it a go. Therefore I'm asking you to sponsor me just a little bit of cash! If I raise £200 I'll go in the sea, if I raise £300 + I'll get my hair wet; now that's a biggie! Please help if you can, any amount will be massively appreciated. More details to follow regarding the time of the swim so you can come and watch me suffer

Ps.... if we are lucky enough to raise any excess funds, this will be divided between Diabetes UK (in memory of my mum/Lydia's grandma and another charity chosen by our supporters.
