Why did we choose the Three Miles area? Because it is one of the most socially and economically disenfranchised communities of the area-- and the Mustard Seed Communities serve the most vulnerable children there. More ...

Three Miles is one of the most socially and economically disenfrachised communities of Kingston, Jamaica and is home to one the country's most prolific workers in social care, enterprise and change:  The Mustard Seed Communities ( Since 1978 the organization has served the most vulnerable children in Jamaica: underage mothers, children with disabilities and those living with HIV/AIDS-- all wards of the State.  MSC prides itself on providing quality education while teaching the value of self-sustainability in a nurturing community for the children.

The Griffin Charitable Trust ( is a non-profit that has, since 2001, seen its founder Moira Morgan work tirelessly as an advocate for children whose voices would otherwise not be heard (see children in attached video). They have served alongside and in collaboration with MSC on various issues and programs at local and national levels throughout the years, and will be facilitating the Three Miles in Three Days Initiative in collaboration with the Citizens Security & Justice Programme.

T.R.I.P. (Travel.Rebuild.Inspire.Progress.) is a US-based non-profit organization that focuses on the rebuilding and revitalizing of communities in need across the globe. Through their generous support, T.R.I.P. ( is providing the foundation for this volunteer effort.

The Volunteer Team

Our volunteers are a group of individuals choosing to spend their holiday in service of others, alongside those from the Citizens Security & Justice Programme. We will be traveling to Kingston, Jamaica on the week of Christmas to bring the children of Three Miles a holiday that will leave an impact: there will be newly painted classrooms, trees planted, and workshops held at the MSC headquarters, home to My Father’s House (caring for 60 children with multiple disabilities), Little Angels Basic School (providing early childhood education to 80 children of the local community)-- and all of this will be done in three days!

Now that we have the labor, we need the materials- please help by contributing whatever you can towards the goal of $3,150 in costs. There are paints, tools and  supplies to be purchased, so please understand that every little bit helps!

As sponsors you can receive updates on the project via our Three Miles in Three Days blog- taking the journey alongside our team, knowing that YOU helped make an impact on the lives of these children.

Thank you so much for anything that you can do- and please, SPREAD THE WORD!
