Kathy Copley-Weekley hasn't added a story.
Crestview, FL resident, dear friend and family member Jeremy Copley was critically injured in a car accident on 8/18/13 while visiting and seeking work in Virginia. He sustained multiple life threatening injuries and was in the VCU/MCV Critical Care Unit in Richmond, Va.
After extensive lifesaving surgeries and partial healing, he has been released from the hospital and staying with his brother.
His mother returned to DeFuniak Springs on 9/20 after staying with him the first 2 weeks out of the hospital.
He is currently having to give himself 2 shots a day to thin his blood and the retail cost for these is $2000.00 a week. He is also on a blood thinning pill, blood pressure medication, and pain medication. These are also at a 30% cost to him and his family.
Jeremy suffered multiple serious injuries; he broke all his ribs but
3, punctured his lungs, and suffered multiple internal injuries. The
most serious and devastating injury Jeremy suffered was a severed
aorta. This type of injury is considered “not survivable” When
admitted, it was a consensus of all the medical staff that it was a
probability he wouldn't survive these devastating injuries. I am soooo
happy to report that 15 days later By the Grace of God, not only did
he survive, but he was thriving and taken off all life support. Make
no mistake, he has a very long road ahead. The medical staff deemed
this a miracle; I deem it a second chance, a God given miracle. Thank
you Dear Lord, all the Glory is Yours.
It is here that we humbly ask for your donation to the Copley family.
His mother Kathy Copley Weekley, his two brothers, Joe and Randy, his sister, Heather and his sister in-laws, Patti and Crystal, were by his side at the hospital until he was released. His step-father, Eddie Weekley made two 14 hour trips one way to see him while he was recovering in the hospital. With food, travel and lodging it was a tremendous monetary expense to all of them.
It is going to be a very long recovery process, and they are going to
need a hand up. I know that money is tight for all, but any amount
would help and be appreciated. I noticed that on Jeremy’s Facebook
update page that over 300 people are subscribed. If everyone on that
page could find it in their heart to donate just $5.00 weekly, it
would help Jeremy with the tremendous expenses he has incured. I set
the donation goal at $5,000, but that doesn't mean we can’t exceed it!
That would be totally awesome if we did.
Thank you everyone for your support, it is greatly appreciated!
God Bless You All!
Sincerely, The Wide and Reaching Copley Clan
initially set up by Laurel Hansmann, but now is being hadled by Jeremy's mom, Kathy Weekley
