Willie Nelson was apparently not loved and they threw him away like a piece of trash. Sadly they threw him from a moving car and he broke his leg along with some road rash. One of the ladies that bottle feeds orphaned kittens found him on the side of the road. She took him to the Animal Control Shelter. The Shelter Manager called Nash County Animal Friends and said that she could PTS or did we want to try and save him. We said...SEND TO THE VET! Even with a broken leg, he is a sweet loving cat. He may be an "average" looking tabby cat, but he has great heart.

At the vet... pain meds given, the first priority. He tested negative for feline diseases. Very wormy, so he was treated for those and given his immunizations. X-rays will tell us if he will have to have his rear leg amputated or if it can be splinted (if the break is clean and low). The $800 goal is the vet's first estimate of the expenses. It will change, depending on his status. They will sedate him for x-rays and while under move on ahead with any surgery needed and will neuter him at the same time.

We obviously need your help.

Sponsorships for the Nash County Animal Control Shelter pets are managed by Promoting Animal Welfare in NC (PAWNC), a 501c3 charity, working in partnership with Nash County Animal Friends (NCAF).

RESCUE SPONSORSHIPS: All received funds will be used for the required or needed vetting of the pet prior to rescue or adoption, with the remaining funds sent to the Rescue for the continued care of the pet.

DONORS: Your gift is appreciated and is tax deductible. Promoting Animal Welfare in NC is a networking advocacy group and a non-profit corporation with their 501c3 charity status. Our usual goal is $300 for dogs, $200 for cats, except in special circumstances, however we can go over! Thanks for Caring!
