THANK YOU TO ONE WORLD MEDIA WHO HAVE FUNDED ME A FURTHER £350! AND THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE DONATED. IT WOULD STILL BE FANTASTIC TO GET TO £750 ON HERE. EVERY LITTLE HELPS.

I have been given the amazing opportunity to film my own documentary on the issue of homelessness. My unique angle will show how football can help reduce this issue around the world.

Homeless is used in a very broad sense, as it also stands for those who are considered to be ‘non-existent’ in society. There are many organisations that provide different strategies in dealing with homelessness and social exclusion.

However, many are unaware of the Homeless World Cup and the different international partners set up within it. My journey starts in Chile who are the reigning champions and they will be hosting the Homeless World Cup in 2014.

Homelessness is a key global issue, but in Chile there is a wider range of networks. The majority of the homeless in Chile are former criminals, both juvenile and adult, looking for a way back into society.

Accion Total is one of the partners of the Homeless World Cup and they run a programme called Futbol Calle. Futbol Calle brings together the homeless and social excluded persons in Chile and gets them playing football. Social development workshops are the core focus of Futbol Calle before attention turns to the field and selection for the world cup.

I will follow the trials in Santiago as the team gets chosen and I will be there as they prepare for the 2013 World Cup in Poland.

Players and management staff will also be discussing their moving stories in-depth and how the Futbol Calle initiative is changing their lives.

With thanks to One World Media, my flights have been funded. Now I need your help in helping me produce the documentary.

I hope you are able to help reach my goal of £750, which will enable me to live in Chile for two weeks.

This is truly an awe-inspiring opportunity for me to raise awareness of initiatives such as Futbol Calle and how we can learn from what other organisations are doing to reduce homelessness in my first ever solo documentary.

Thank you for reading this page and many many thanks for helping fund my documentary. I really appreciate it.
